Choose from a selection of intricate landscapes, richly decorated with cranes, peacocks, and beautiful florals, depicting national symbols of beauty and longevity.  Handcrafted in the South of England using these beautiful silk screen printed designs, selected from an archive in Kyoto, Japan. Available with either a base or ceiling fitting, pair with one of our glass lamp bases, or create a focal point by hanging from your ceiling.

 

DESIGN

Rose Gold Clouds – A stunning design featuring birds amidst a rose gold landscape and vivid azure water, surrounded by cherry blossoms, wisteria and rhododendrons. This design features intricate gold detailing, that gives it that truly opulent finish, and lustre.

Each of our ‘Sougara’ designs are selected from an archive of single image designs in Kyoto Japan, where we work with family-run silk screen print studios to produce these exquisite papers.

BUYING GUIDE

Our beautiful shades are available in a range of sizes, colours and materials. Find your perfect shade by seeing our FIND YOUR SIZE guide. Please note, most of our lampshades are available with either a lamp base fitting or a ceiling fitting, this means they cannot be used for both unless you want them to be upside down! We ask you to select your preference when adding the lampshade to your shopping bag.

When finding the right size shade for a base you already own, we suggest using the following rule of thumb –   ensure that the diameter shade is a close match to the height of the base itself.  However do keep in mind that if you have a tall & thin base you should go smaller, and slightly larger if your base is short and wide.

Our drum lampshade fitting ring will fit a standard bayonet cap (BC) lamp holder, which is the most common type of lamp fitting in the UK today. It can also be used with Edison Screw (E27) lamp holders, which is most common in Europe. Simply remove the converter plug in the centre of the fitting. Unfortunately they are not compatible with USA fittings.

Due to the handmade nature of the lampshade, colour variation may occur, seams may be visible where the landscape designs meet, fine creasing may appear on the interior papers, these are all hand-crafting qualities that we believe make the lampshades truly unique.

PRODUCT CARE

Whilst our silk-screen printed papers are incredibly durable, they are delicate and need to be handled with care. We recommend placing away from direct sunlight where possible – as this can bleach the colours, and avoid direct contact with heat, water & oil, and any situation that is either too dry or humid. These products are made with materials that will react to their environment. Each product is handmade and therefore may be subject to variations in size, colour and alignment of pattern. Dust with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.
