Why is this product in the Outlet? There are many hand processes in making our products – unfortunately it is inevitable that some of the products do not quite meet our exacting standards to be sold at full price. All products in the outlet section have small imperfections. These might include, slight defects in the papers / bookcloth / book block  – none of which effect the functionality of the product. They are sold at greatly reduced prices in the hope they will find a good home and be enjoyed for the lovely items they are. All outlet products are non-returnable, and we are unable to send these outside of the UK. 

Create a family heirloom to be handed down through the generations with this Extra Large Sougara album. Featuring 50 ivory card leaves, interleaved with glassine tissue, offering an abundance of space to arrange as well as protect your treasured photographs. Hand-bound in our bindery in the South of England with a beautiful silk-screen printed Sougara paper selected from an archive of designs in Kyoto, Japan. Each Sougara paper features a landscape design depicting Japanese symbols of beauty and longevity, paired with a Japanese silk-blend fabric spine, and a grosgrain marker. This album features a peacock in full display amidst a warm golden landscape, surrounded by cherry blossoms, wisteria and rhododendrons. This colorway has been produced using the art of shibukizome dying, creating this rich tea-stained effect layered with various shades of opulent gold inks. DESIGN

Gold Peacock – A stunning design featuring a peacock in full display amidst a warm golden landscape, surrounded by cherry blossoms, wisteria and rhododendrons. This colorway has been produced using the art of shibukizome dying, creating this rich tea-stained effect layered with various shades of opulent gold inks.
Each of our ‘Sougara’ designs are selected from an archive of single image designs in Kyoto Japan, where we work with family-run silk-screen print studios to produce these exquisite papers.

PRODUCT CARE

Whilst our silk-screen printed papers are incredibly durable, they are delicate and need to be handled with care. We do not laminate or coat the papers, as this would detract from their beautiful hand-printed tactile quality. We recommend storing your products away from direct sunlight – as this can bleach the colours, and avoid direct contact with heat, water & oil, and any situation that is either too dry or humid. These products are made with materials that will react to their environment. Each product is handmade and therefore may be subject to variations in size, colour and alignment of pattern.
